Work arggggggghhhhhhhhhh

Well I finish work on 31st March, cant wait, but anyway, you know what its like, you emigrating, your kacking it, your having trouble with the teen and the family, worrying about work, accom, money, flights , lonliness. etc, etc,

Go into work, great , I'll forget about it there,

If one more person tells me 'how they could never do it'
'how they'd miss their family'
'why do i want to emigrate'
'they had rellies/friends who done it and came home'

Oh yes this is really helping...........not

The only bloody person who is helping is my boss:rolleyes: , perhaps she wants rid of me, but we've known each other a long time and always go on ok, said she admired me for it:) and if it all goes wrong then my job will be here:)

It's funny how everyone knows someone that's done it and come home. You should say well I know hundreds that have done it and stayed ;)

Hi Mags,

at least you are on final stages. I actually told everybody at work last week of my plans. (given 4 months notice)

When I told everybody in the canteen, you could hear a pin drop. I've been here for 14 years now, and I was part of the furniture.

I've had at least 20 people say the same things to me in the last couple of days. "why are you emigrating" "I couldnt do that" "gosh, its so far away"

I know its a bloody long way away !!! I'm not stoopid !!!

How about we laugh about all this over a drink in about 6 months ?

Paul

(p.s. thanks for the K the other day)

In these situations what is required in response to "I could never do it!" is a patronising stare into their eyes, a pause whilst you grin smugly and knowingly at them at the same time, and finally concluding with a "Yes, I know"...spinning on your heel casually and then walking away from them before they get a chance to explain why....

It's really odd - I have had not one person say to me dont do it or that they could never do it.
Everyone without exception has said brilliant, best of luck, lucky thing.

Re: Work arggggggghhhhhhhhhh

Mags just ignore them.

They are not you and they dont know your determination.

Tell them that you have changed your mind, are not going to Australia, you are now going to Iran.

That should keep them occupied for a bit and give them something other than Australia to talk about. ;)

Personally, we are fed up with people saying 'I thought you were going to Oz, I take it your not going now?' Just because we are still waiting. :(

We have had quite a few people tell us that they could never do it either and all the same comments that you have had. We are trying to ignore them but it gets very annoying when you hear the same thing all the time.

Love that

We've hardly told anyone yet so haven't had to face that.
Telling Mum and Dad at Easter
I have worked out that I should be able to hand my notice in at the end of July (have to give 3 months).
It seems like such a long way away :(
