It should work fine, however are you sure you want to buy it when it's so new? We bought a new laptop and unfortunately we had no option but Vista and so far we really don't like it. It's so unintuitive and there are still very many glitches with it, and with Office Suite 2007 that I would probably go out of my way to get a machine with XP on it if I had to do it all again.

One of the blokes said he couldnt believe they sold a pc to a person who has never owned or been near a PC before.
she now has a lesser spec PC but has got the more stabler XP on it.
And tbh i wasnt that impressed with Vista really.

Ok, here's a first for this particular thread...I actually PREFER Vista to XP...
In my opinion it looks far better and has much better security controls and useful accessories...
As for buying Vista here or in the UK, will probably be cheaper to buy here in Australia...Are you buying just the Vista software to upgrade a current PC, or buying a new PC with Vista pre-installed? If you are buying a whole new PC with Vista, then it will ALMOST DEFINITELY be cheaper in Australia...
Hope that helps!

Nice one i'm glad someone asked this.
Not been able to get my brother on email lately to ask him, assuming he's tried Vista out but he has always told me to avoid PC world like the plague, i didn't listen bought this pc and regretted it ever since - the biggest piece of poop i've ever owned in all my life. It crashes frequently we've got Norton and firewalls on it and it runs regular virus checks. It just hates being online which is mainly what I use it for, you work offline on a letter etc and itworks fine no probs.
But then I suppose you get people who'll get on fine with pc's from Pc World.
I'll lay low on the Vista thing then sounds like teething troubles similar with kids will avoid for a bit longer and see what bro says about it all in another few months then I may treat myself to a little laptop.

I have vista on my PC, and personally I think its great. I have XP on my laptop, and think thats great as well.
Vista has a lot of eye candy which makes it look good plus added extra's, but it also has the same problems as XP when it first came out, a lot of drivers dont work properly, a lot of programs do not support vista etc etc.
I bought it because I wanted the latest, but, If you have just got used to using XP, and you like it, dont change IMO.
Not because vista is bad, but as previously mentioned XP is good.
Dont fix it if it aint broke !!

Someone must have been reading my mind!!
We have been out today 'window shopping' for a new laptop and looking at the vista/XP problem, I even went on here when we got back searching for anyone who had posted about this.
Thanks guys, very informative.

Anyway, Vista, it ain't to bad, but it's not great, it'e new....wait till a service pack comes out, same with XP in that regard.
and most of the eye candy is just that and gets annoying, the features aren't that earth shattering....though being able to use thumb drives as memory is a nice touch.
Plenty of software and hardware drivers have issues with Vista, so check to see if what you use will run on it, or can be upgraded...that and it's a memory hog, and the only real advantage is Directx 10, but nothing really use's that and won't really for another couple of years, plus it's a locked system, more games moving over to opengl, much nicer to program for apparently.
