I think the South East has been a bit drier.

Saturday was lovely here, thankfully for us, as it was the kids school fayre

But it's been torrential rain again for the past 3 days.

Nothing like that here in Canberra. Although it is -6 this morning

Anyone subscribe to the theory that whatever whether hits the East Coast US ends up in Britain 3 weeks later? I know a couple of farmers who subscribe to that.

I just remind myself about the rain we used to get in Brisbane, this is nothing At least we dont get 4 inches flowing through our garage when it rains. To be honest the rain hasnt affected us too much at all, we are in such a beautiful area the weather really isnt that important.
I just wish those people who are so unhappy with the UK weather would just hurry up and move to Australia and stop whinging

The suggestion is that La Nino is coming back, with rainfall decreasing from as early as next month and next spring/summer being hot and dry.

If that's true you'll be looking back on this month with fond memories.

After two cool and humid summers here in Canberra, I wouldn't mind a bit of hot and dry. The fires freak me out a bit though.

Sorry to rain on your parade, but there is very little correlation between what happens on the US East Coast and Britain. There'd probably be more of a reverse correlation if anything.

It's a similar story between Perth and the east coast - sure, cold fronts move from west to east but, as often as not, there'll be a big fat high pressure system preventing them from having much of an impact here. That's why they get wetter winters over there. Summers a different story with a much less pronounced West to East flow.
