will this rain never stop

2 weeks ago t was midsummer day and the poor Druids at Stonehenge saw nothing but grey clouds.
It has been pissing down every day since April, with the exception of 4 days at the end of May. It is bloody depressing and I am developing webbed feet.
Even the summer sales started a month early to try and flog all those optimistic summer clothes....doubt they are going well as the doom merchants are saying this will last at least another 3 months. (until around the time we leave UK!)
I WANT SOME SUN.

Fed up with how dark it always is, and the slight hint of brightness that you get, building your hopes up only to be dashed again minutes later

I am usually upbeat about the U.K weather because it is rarely as bad as people make out.
However; this year has been a complete wash out. I wore boots and socks to work today - IN JULY FFS!
I think it's getting everyone down, it's been fairly relentless

Why don't you all move to Australia? It's lovely in Perth at the moment, mis winter, sunny 21 degrees.

Summer in UK is fabulous and people are so much nicer. This constant bloody rain is making everyone (including me) grumpier. I bought a ski jacket in January and have worn it almost every day since.
Still our ark building is coming on well, and the animals are gathering (and I am an atheist!!!)

Never happy.English rain always amuses me now, after you have seen 10 inches in an hour Uk rain is merely drizzle at whatever level.
Same with heat, a week of blazing 40's or 92% humidity with a top of 36 make you realise how mild a climate the UK is.

Hey, Sydney didn't see much sun this year either, though it does come out for a bit now it is winter.

Sounds like the summer we had in Sydney this year! Luckily winter here is like it normally is, blue skies and sunny and beautiful

So the news has just announced that we've had the wettest June since records began with most areas seeing more than double the average
It was also the second dullest - an average of only 115 hours of sunshine
OH JOY

It's not been getting me down for one simple reason. I walk to work most days from Camden Town through Regents Park then down to embankment and along the South bank of the Thames to tower bridge and back up to the City. For the majority of the morning that I have done this the weather has actually been quite good and on only a few occasions have I been soaked. I feel like I have had quite a nice summer so far. Obviously this morning has been a soaking so not a great deal of fun.
