Why Australia ?

OK going out on a limb here but I think Aus is classless as compared to the UK definitely. I won't generalise because otherwise I'd have to slap myself and I'm not in the mood but suffice to say around here where I live there is no "I'm better than you, I have more than you, what I have is more valuable than you can afford". The rich and the poor live happily side by side and couldn't care less. They invite each other round for lobster or prawns, they share champagne or tonic water - it's irrelevant. It is also very very refreshing.
If there are people who claim class, IMO they tend to be relatively recent migrants from the UK who know no better.

No. But Australia's version is a very very watered down version of the UK

I think there is a hierarchy of sorts here. There's certainly an absence of Blue bloods here but there most definately is a strong working class presence in the area in which I live. I drive to the other side of town to Hyde Park and there I find middle- upper middle class people.
Maybe it's wrong to use the word class in terms of Australia, but there is definately different socioeconomic levels in Australia..we are not all equal.
