We considered America ...New York State - but there were too many fat peo... I mean we couldn't live with the politics there.

We also considered Italy, but would never the lingo well enough for my career.

We had provisinally booked a holiday here...then thought - sod it, lets go for the Visa ...give it a go.

Husband is a civil engineer and needed an English speaking country so he didnt have to learn all the technical jargon in another language!! We also wanted somewhere warm and sunny and although all my family live in South Africa we felt that the political climate was a little unpredictable to say the least. Love the USA but wouldnt want to live there, NZ weather is a bit too similar to here so we ended up with Oz!

My relationship with my mother is no different but I am more relaxed because I know that were I to see a dark green Renault 5 in my road I would no longer have to run and hide - You don't know how good that makes me feel

Yeah, I'm sure that's part of it for me too. I'm quite secure in knowing they won't just turn up, or book a weekend where I run around like a lunatic whilst my mother watches TV all afternoon, and leaves her stuff everywhere, whilst trying to convert my children to Christianity (she's given up on trying to convert me) and then tell me what a slut my father's ex girlfriend is.... and so it goes....

Whoa there Fat Bloke. Way too much information. Why would i be jealous? It sounds disgusting! Please dont tell me more. And Yes it is nice to be well off. I am not jealous at all of your money btw as i do seem to get by on what i have and jealousy is not a nice trait anyway.

I do however find you arrogant and a bit of a bragger. Maybe you think its funny to brag but remember there are plenty of people who have not got a lot of money and struggle so i hope that behind your facade you might be a genuinely kind person. I hope for your sake you are!
Thats all i have to say I will leave you to brag a bit more. Maybe your friends know what you're like but you must admit on a forum like this you are taken on your words only as no one knows you personally. So try and be a little more tactful.
