Ive been in the same campsite just outside melb, same month, 2 consecutive years, and its been 4c one year and 44c the next
Same with bris, we've had drought and floods in the same month but different years.
Typical is hard to pin down

On another note, 'brown crispy grass' is hardly typical of the southern states on a year around basis. Come here in winter and spring and it is usually a beautiful green, go up to northern NSW and SE Qld in winter and you often find the same crispy dead grass, yet in summer up there it is green. Just different times of year when different natural phenomena occur in different places basically.
