Nothing at all. Personally I do not believe in New Year's Eve. I reckon it was invented by the religious nutters at Dan Murphy's to sell more grog. You're not fooling me Mr Murphy!

Hmmmm try 9am dear! Its a total shit fight. And dont expect to get out of there in a hurry either. Best vantage points charge now and I think there are restrictions on alcohol too???
I will be at "The Beaches" with a load of other drunks singing in the New Year to a collection of "Countdown" favourites performed by a variety of local bands. Should be awesome - just hope it aint raining or it will be bedlum in there.

I'm telling you - they start rolling out their picnic blankets first thing. Worse than trying to get a sun lounger on the costa del sol. And there aint too many beaches around the harbour. "The Beaches" is the name of my local!
Good luck with that one. Seriously, I hope you have a great time. But it aint my idea of fun being crammed into Darling Harbour with half of Sydney. Maybe it will rain - and some folks will stay home. Attached are a couple of early afternoon pics for you. Only 10 hours to wait!!!!!!!

Probably a piss up at our place. We generally go somewhere and for the last two years have gone to a neighbours place down the road.
Our Xmas Eve do down the road was quite interesting this year. We turned up and there were around 20 18 YO's there. Who were supposedly going out...Courtesy of the only daughter... figured it was going to be a incident free repeat of the 18 YO's birthday. One major punch up later and two Cop calls and we've figured we may have the adults at our place from now on.
LOL...
Got a bit hairy there... thank gawd for the Wifes Pysch nurse training and experience who managed to break up the fight, before everyone got involved. Never seen her in action before... quite interesting straight in between them and right at the perpetrator.
So Parties definitely at our gaffe

We have friends here from Thailand. And i was wondering where to take them for a decent view of the fireworks. Don't need to be too close. But close enough. Where would be a good spot to watch from?

Thanks for the warning, Ponyrama. As veterans of the Y2K celebrations in London (impossibly crammed and it took 2 and a half hours to get away) we probably won't bother. We thought of taking a cruise or attending one of those harbourside venues complete with meal and live band but the prices for those kinds of things are exhorbitant and difficult to justify at a time when neither OH or I are working. So maybe next year...
Failing that come to "The Beaches" in Thirroul - $20 for a fab live music sesh , with free finger food (oh and great company).

If you are planning on driving anywhere check the local councils website for restrictions, I know my area (Balmain) has huge traffic restrictions for non-residents from midday. Also remember the Harbour bridge is closed for a couple of hours and the Anzac bridge is closed for a while too.
