My PE teacher, as I have posted elsewhere, was Peter Cushing (not that one) who played for London Scottish - another deranged failed sportsman who took his frustration out on everyone. |

It would have been very cool if it had been 'that' Peter Cushing.

He also a maths teacher who, alledgedly, forced pupils to strip off an item of clothing if they got a question wrong. In an all boys school.

Looking forward to?:
Cold, crispy, sunny, windless high pressure weather over xmas in the Lake District with an inch or so of snow on the mountain tops, the valleys nice and green and the lakes glassy smooth... I'll stroll amongst the hills and bleating sheep, completely devoid of other annoying tourists comfortable and warm in my many layers and sure underfoot on frozen ground enjoying the glorious views and the sight of my breath, knowing that when my walk is over I'll end up in a lovely cosy friendly pub with a roaring fire, decent beer, and family. Of course the danger is it'll piss-down, be grey and miserable the whole time, I wont be able to see a damn thing through all the clouds, my feet will sink into horrible wet boggy ground, the wind will mean despite my many layers and the actual relatively warm temperature I'll feel freezing, my wife might even not manage to get to the UK if too many other Qantas staff use up all the avialable standby seats, I'll end up having monumental screaming matches with my mother (its a family tradition) and the FX rate is such that by xmas I might not be able to afford a pint in the pub any more! |

The vision of your ideal pub will haunt me for a while, I keep suppressing memories of English pubs. One day I'll run screaming to Brisbane Airport Departures declaring "I'm sorry, I'm coming back". Maybe ... :D |

The in-laws buggering off back to Blighty in the middle of December. The fact that they're arriving at the end of November, I'm trying to ignore.
