My husband will not venture into Aldi's in case he has checkout rage and ends in prison! He swears they are secretly anger management courses thought up by women

Hmm we dont have such a problem with the Queues at the 3 Aldis we use.
I think it must be because we shop on a Sunday Arvo.
Plus on the rare occasions that there are 7 people in the queue, then I equate that in time to 2 people in the queue at the other big supermarkets.... such is the speed of the check out people.
Can't belive I'm discussing this.
LOL...

Just move your basket in front of theirs everytime one of them does it. Before you know it you'll be at the front of the queue.
The most bizarre Aldi behaviour is the checkout procedure where they practically launch the food off the scanner - if you're not waiting at the other side with a pair of baseball mitts on, all your groceries end up underneath the bespoke electricals cabinet. I've found the ideal technique is to stand about five feet back and just move the trolley from side to side, catching the items as they get launched.

I have my doubts about the quality of some of the stuff in Aldi.
This is something I've mentioned in the past, but worth repeating. We once saw stewing steak in Aldi that cost less per tin than the dog food... so we bought some for the dog. Now my dog, like most dogs, will happily lick his own backside...but he turned his nose up at that stuff.

I am not much of an Aldi shopper myself to be honest. The basic stuff is OK like cheese, orange juice etc. and I have had a few electrical bargains from the middle bit.
I don't like the queues either, but have to admit the check out staff are super fast, too fast like another poster said!!
I have tried a few bits here and there but on the whole I am not very impressed, their tea bags are so weak you have to use 2, therefore the saving on name brand tea bags is negated.
I think it's good for people with young kids on a tight budget and of course it's always good to have an alternative to Woolies and Coles.........

Did anyone else buy the sandwich toaster thingybobber? We did, it was $29.99 and I used it yday for the first time. It's a little bit erm, well ok, very hot to the touch, the top of it when it's closed, surely this is a bit dangerous no?

Another quality product from Aldi. Somewhat the same as the $10 rice cooker that spits boiling hot water at you.

I changed it the other day, my old username had a H it in which refers to my maiden name which is what I had when I joined up but I've been married nearly two years so I thought I should use R for my married name
