I'm going to use the BBQ (Oh and the pizza, chicken, chinese and Macca shops across the road . Might even treat myself to a few bar meals at lunch time )

That is good...we have been looking at older houses and a new kitchen is likely. I was thinking that it would be in the region of $20k!

Good luck Carole

Been ther, done that - but at least I didn't have to live among the mess. We stayed with the MIL, and to be honest I am not sure which was the best option in hindsight.

It will be so worth it when it is all finisshed.

Take care

Shirley (aka Marge!)

Yeah, we were quoted just short of $20k if we'd have got a company in. Luckily for me I'm married to a tight arse who can do it himself

That is right my friends getting her kitchen done will cost her about that the plans look really good so i think it will be worth for the end result!!

I know someone who put an Ikea kitchen in there home and although its lovely you can tell its not high quality it depends i suppose, i would rather pay more and have one that lasted years.

my old man is very good at DIY but we have an awkward space that standard units won't fit. The kitchen itself is costing $14k including stone benchtops. Appliances are coming in at $6k, plumber/electrician/plasterer is $3000, new sink and tap $1000 and the list goes on and on. We aren't going to be doing this again and while we have the money I am doing exactly what I want.
