None of that changes the fact though. If CS has 9mins in a 30 min slot, then that next 30 mins will have 3 mins, which is a far better situation than the virtually unregulated ad time in Oz. Using CS for the general distribition of ads on tv in the UK is not a great example.

So when Emmerdale is on before Corrie and that is 22 minutes long, that makes for 17 minutes in the 7pm to 8pm timeslot. They probably get away with it as they also advertise their own tv shows which more than likely doesn't count as advertising.

Thanks to Channel 10 and my shortage of digital channels I'm watching F1 live on the internet right now.

Not an advert in sight

That was a really great race, even with the ads

Hey - all this talk of Corrie. I don't think I've ever watched Corrie.

I do have a childhood memory of my grandmother having it on the box...and seeing some opening credits...some streets and the roofs of houses... and a ginger cat...the scene then flicked to some old dears complaining about something....

that is my sum total of knowledge on the enigma that is 'Corrie'..

That's pretty much what it is from what I've heard - pasty northerners having a whinge. Quite reflective of life in the grim north.

How fantastic was that? I didn't envy Gregg and Michel having to choose a winner!

(To the OP, all the shows you mentioned are on Foxtel including your husband's weird choices :D)

You can take the pasty northerner out of the north but not the north out of the pasty northerner ;)

I have watched Coronation Street since I was 5 years old, never ever missed an episode. I wasn't about to start just because I moved to the arse end of nowhere :)

So I have just downloaded an ITV detective drama. 2 hour time slot on ITV and running time of show minus adverts is 1 hour and 29 minutes. 31 minutes of adverts in 2 hours!!!
