I had a glug of bleach once. First Born would have eaten a slug but I scooped it out of her mouth before she could chew.

Chicken hearts whilst on a trip in Chile. Didn't know what they were until the tour guide mentioned it. When I looked at them close up I could see the arteries stemming off and everything.

We used to have them in our soup when I was a kid....very nice they were too.

Animal hearts (pig,cattle,sheep) used to be pretty standard fodder. ....and other offal as well.
We always included the chicken heart and gizzards in the soup.
