first couple of questions from me in this thread.. I'm sure there will be a few more as thing's get going...

just been looking through my spouse visa checklist, as i'm going to send it off soon.

It says to make sure I've enclosed form 80, but then contradicts itself by saying only send if requested by processing office... so I leave it out, at first?

and the other thing.. in the personal documents > sponsor checklist bit.. its asking for photocopies of documents to show proof of my partners/sponsors employment over the last 2 years, such as payslips, letters from employers confirming length of employment etc. Problem is, she hasn't been employed for about 3 years.. I've been the sole earner as she's been at home with out little boy. Is this likely to be a problem?

Thanks for any help...

Mark

welcome Mark, i can't answer your questions knowledgeably, but will give you my opinion.
i would hold on to the form 80 and only submit it as and if requested, a few folk have been asked for it but if i remember correctly only if the police checks were not entirely clean.
As for the sponsor, i would explain the situation in the additional notes and try and provide evidence that you can support yourself and them for the 2 yr span, either by the amount of money you take with you or by having employment lined up.

sorry, probably not much use, but wanted to welcome you on board

good luck to all the ones moving forward

i feel as though we are getting no where, extra info requested and provided 10 days ago, was sitting waiting impatiently, i received another email yesterday wanting yet more info

seemingly stat dec provided by daughters dad is not sufficient, even though it was dicscussed at phone interview with another CO who said as she was 16 and a bit it would be fine.

am extremely upset and frustrated, her dad works away a lot and getting the first letter was difficult enough, he has absolutely no objections to us going but i know to get him to a solicitors will take ages, do you think if i phone on monday to plead my case i will have any luck or will it just go against us

wish it was later in the day when i could look for the answer in my wine glass.

Struth, it sounds like we have similar problems. Daughter same age, problem with stat dec. Her father refused to do another. I discussed it with my case officer who gave an extension to our deadline to go to court. It's taken two months but on Wednesday I got my court order. I have to submit the extra evidence (second lot requested) next week.

By the way, I never found the answer in my wine glass, but spent many hours looking!

Re: Spouse Visa Circle - join here!

hello all spouse visa circle people!

i am in the process of starting, having my medical soon. i am just worried about being refused, do genuine people get refused sometimes? i have been with liam for 7 1/2 yrs but on the social side we are a bit strange. we dont really socialise much as a couple, we either go out alone as a couple (dinner, cinema etc) or see our own friends alone for most of the time and i am really worried as they seem to put quite a bit of weight on the social aspect of relationships! we dont even really have family to back us up. although we both have a good relationship with my mum and her partner, they live in spain so we dont see them on a regular basis and i havent seen his parents for about 4 years as i dont get on with them! we have all the other stuff, finance and things, its just the social side i am worried about

Re: Spouse Visa Circle - join here!

Dont worry too much

We have been together over 3 years we had little or no social life (dont like pubs and such) no joint bank account no joint morgage some photos from a couple of day trips and a weeks holiday in cornwall 1 stat dec from an aussie friend that came and stayed with us for 3 weeks 6 or 7 statements from my friends and family,Some recipts for things we had jointly brought for the house(bed fridge/freezer etc).
Make sure you personal statements are honest and detailed.
My meds were clear but i did have a police record and i had to do a statement about the offences.

As long as you come across as genuine you should be ok.
Best of luck :)

so you think there is no point phoning to plead my case , i know her dad has no objections to us going but it took weeks to get him to sign a letter, enclose a copy of his passport picture and return to me with a self addressed envelope. goodness knows how long it would take to get him to go to a lawyer.
how did you go about the court order??
sorry, taking ages to type but bottom of wine glass was quite interesting:o

Getting the grant letter was fantastic but actually seeing your passport come back with that sticker in it is is the thing that you most want to see.

We are off to Mandurah to stay with friends until we find a house, We will be looking around rockingham area.
