Had email from co two weeks ago saying his medical had been sent to Health Asessment Authority.
I guess its so they can check - not sure - anyway have heard nothing since.
I was hoping to have been booking flights by now.

I had an e-mail saying the same, it had gone to health authority. I did my application myself.
I think from experience with applying for the citizenship for my hubby, when we used an agent, it can take little longer to find out any response. I say this because his citizenship was granted on 25th August 06 and we didnt know until 21st Sept 06.
Sure it will be ok in the end. C x

Hello Rachel and Co.
Just found your thread.I`d like to join the Spouse Circle too. I`m married to an Aussie and we`ve just landed in Sydney. We met way back in the last century when I was a Backpacker and living in Sydney. He was blown away by my English beauty and ladylike ways and following a long period of exchanging letters(it would have been so much easier by e-mail) while I trekked around Oz and the rest of the world and he and his friends interailed around Europe he turned up at my home in England. (Parents still in therapy at the shock of unshaven ,evil smelling Aussie with backpack turning up to claim daughter at other daughters black tie 21st.) Tomorrow we celebrate 15th wedding anniversary!
We`ve lived in Japan and England and last year decided to give Sydney a try. We have produced three young Englishmen 12,9,6 who are desparately trying to adapt to new life .We`ve only been here a month so everything is still new for them. OH is cockahoop to be `home`.Boys just want to `go home` and I`m addicted to BE.Boys will probably feel better when our junk arrives and they are begging to make friends.
Cor !What a warbble. Is my post the longest so far?

Hi and welcome to Wilgar!! We will have to put you in our stats as another lucky one who is already there!! Whereabouts in the UK were you living....? I am sure your boys will settle in quickly.......how is Sydney??? Which area are you in??

I am excited - my sister in law in Brissie has emailed me to say she has booked my twins into childcare for two days a week from January 08 - makes it all seem a bit more real!

THought it would be a good idea to have a thread for all those of us who are either in the process of or thinking about or already got a spouse visa, be you a Pom or an Ozzy!! As there seems to have been a few of us on threads recently and we all seem to be heading for Brisbane!!

I'll start off - I'm Rachel, British, my husband is dual citizenship UK/Australia as he emigrated with his family when he was 4. He has been living back here in the UK (Harrogate in Yorkshire) for the last 12 years with me! We have been married for 10 years and have three kids, twin boys aged 2 and a 10 week old baby girl.

We've talked about going back to Aus for years and never ever been able to make a decision. Various things have kept us here such as his elderly grandparents who we basically looked after until their deaths in 1999 and 2003; and a small investment in a company that we both worked for. He has now left the company and I am on maternity leave.

We have now made the decision that its time to go for it, the ties we have here are my family who I love dearly but I know they will come out and stay for months at a time! My husbands family are mainly in Brisbane - his Mum lives in ST Lucia and one of his sisters in Windsor. His other sister lives in Perth and his Dad divides his time between Tasmania, Cyprus and the UK (Nice!). So its Brissie where we will be heading.

I have just sent off for citizenship for all my kids and once thats through will be heading to London to get their Aussie passports. Then in about JUne time (got a holiday in Majorca in May) I plan to kick off with the actual application (keep putting it off....quite daunting!) and we hope to be in Australia at the latest January 08, may have another Xmas here first. We will see.

Thats me, loads more I could say about me and my family adn my situation but will wait for some more of you to come along first!!

Rachel

Hello,

I have just been pointed in this direction very kindly by Shiels.

I'm Sophie and I'm the English one. Boyfriend was born in New Zealand and moved to Australia when he was 10 but is an Australian citizen. He has been over here for nearly 6 years and we have been together for 3.5 of those. His Mum was born in the UK so he has Right of Abode which is pretty good as it means he can come and go as he pleases!
We are applying for a defacto spouse visa in April but have planning this for about a year now. I always knew that boyf wanted to return home at some point and I guess it's only fair that I give it ago - though to be honest am not looking forward to leaving family/friends but I guess everyone is in the same boat here! So we are hoping to head to Brisbane in September to spend some time with his family and then look to move down South to Sydney.

Anyway won't bore you anymore - Good luck to everyone on here and congrats to everyone who is already in Australia.
