morning people,
i am feeling a bit strange these days, the initial excitment has turned to frustration as others don't seem to do things as quickly as we would like. our aussie friends had said they were returning our stat decs a week and a half ago, but we found out yesterday they hadn't been sent yet
i know they are doing us a favour but it is one of the last things apart from the medicals we have to organise!
anyway just having a moan
, hope things are going well for everyone else

I Will Rachel
I have a Q
We've heard from our CO. They have requested form 80 & 886
did anyone else have to fill these out and does anyone know what they are for? I have searched the forums and it seems it is to do with stage 2?? I'm confused
and slightly worried (as usual)

I filled in form 80 and form 886 and sent it with my application. Form 886 is just the settlement form and for 80 is about your education and where you have travelled on holidays etc. It was hard having to remember the dates of holiday from the past 10 years!!
It is also asks for all your previous addresses as well.

Did you fill in the online form? cos looking at those forms (80 and 886) i'm pretty sure they have been covered in the online form i filled in....

So, photocopy all the forms - saves you time in the end because you won't have to do the research for the answers all over again!

It was a nightmare form though and sooo hard to remember information. We had to put loads of thigns on an attached piece of paper as we've moved loads and my husbands had quite a few jobs since leaving school!
Little tip for those of you not marrie/de facto for long enough to get PR straight away - in two years time when you get the papers to fill in for your PR, you will need to fill in 886 and 80 again. (and if you're on Pros Spouse, you have to do them twice more, once for the temp, and again for PR).
So, photocopy all the forms - saves you time in the end because you won't have to do the research for the answers all over again!

well after all my moaning this morning our aussie friends called to say the forms are on their way
i have spent the afternoon filling in the forms, to hit another stumbling block, oh cant remember his ex wifes date of birth, nor his parents, don't know how we are going to find them out. we haven't told his mum yet as we don't want to get her hopes up so we cant ask outright.
do you think it would matter if we left it blank?
anyway, good luck to all i'm sure all will be fine

G'day from a wet and utterly miserable Belfast...
I thought I'd share a little of my story with everyone.
I'm from Melbourne/Geelong... I met my Northern Irish husband online in 1998 in an archaeology chat room and decided within perhaps 5 mins of talking to him that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him. Bizzare, I know but that's truly what happened.
We talked online for a year, which developed into emails, then text messaging, then progressed to phone calls until he finally said, enough of this and literally jumped on the next plane to Oz to meet me in person. Our relationship went from strength to strength until his visa gave out a year later and he had to return to Belfast to finish out a work contract. I joined him here in Northern Ireland 3 years ago and we married in May last year.
Our decision to return to Melbourne was taken only last January and we believe the gods are smiling on us big time. After all our paperwork was 'in' we thought we'd be waiting months and months for a decision BUT... his Australian Permanent Residency Visa was granted only four days later! The whole process has taken less than four months and I still can't believe how lucky we've been!
The only hitch we went through was with hubby's nipples!
The medical center here in Belfast phoned, said there was a problem with his x-rays and he'd have to go back and have them done again. Of course, they didn't tell us what the problem actually was... and we spend a week biting our nails, not sleeping, stressed to the max and generally worrying ourselves bloody sick over it all! Turns out that during during his medical exam the door to the x-ray room was inadvertantly left open a crack which created a 'shadow' across his nipples. I wanted to scream abuse at them for their stupidity and for all the worry they caused us but we were just SO relieved that all I could think of doing was cracking open a big bottle of Champagne to celebrate. At the 2nd bout of x-rays they clamped big metal rings to hubby's nipples and it's been open season with the jokes at my poor hubby's expense ever since.
At each joke he sniffs smugly and says "Say what you like, I've got an Australian Visa, so there!'
We plan to leave Northern Ireland late June.
We can't wait!
