rachel

thank you for your detailed response, i have just informed partner who is delighted, poor soul would never have pushed the issue. so we are discussing who to get statements from as wish to keep it low key for the time being.

we will be heading for Townsville, nth queensland as that is where the rest of his family are, i'm really excited and hoping that darling teenage daughter doesn't throw a spanner in the works.

hi everyone, Im carrie (aussie) and in the process of doing up our visa application. all so daunting at the moment. been planning of moving back to oz for some time now but this process of getting the application together seems so huge. have two little ones (australian citizens by decent) so hopefully the proces shouldnt be too complicated. planning on moving back to brisbane where im originally from (albany creek on the northside). counting down the months as i plan to go back with the children at the end of the year and then my hubby to follow out later, early next year.

Congratulations Tracey and Jof - wow you are off soon!!!! How are you getting on with all the arrangements?

Hubby is just off the the post office to pick up his visa/passport as we missed the delivery yesterday - can't believe how exciting it is to get it the visa in our mitts. Now off to sell some more stuff/clearout and decorate the house to put up for sale. Hopefully we're off Brisbane way around August!!

I have printed everything off and as far as I'm concerned its:

the medical
the police check
Form 47sp
Form 40sp
Declaration of relationship from your side
Declaration of relationship from spouse's side.
2 x stat decs from Aussie citizens
Proof of relationship (e.g. travel tickets, family photos, phone bills, wedding cards, joint statements and bills etc)
4 passport photos of the applicant
2 passport photos of the sponsor

And of course a cheque or credit card details to pay the application charge!!!

Please all correct me if I am wrong on the above.
The other things that I in my own situation will be sending are:

Certified copy of my husband's citizenship cert
Certified copy of my birth cert (full)
Certified copy of our marriage cert
Certified copies of the Aus passports of the Aus Citizens who have done the stat decs.
Certified copy of my passport
Note to say the children are Australian citizens

HOpe this helps. Send me a PM if you have more questions.

Whereabouts are you heading?

oh and Gary - HUGE CONGRATS ON THE VISA!!!!

AND BELATEDLY TO PHOENIX UK TOO!!!!
Oh No!!!

Do we need certified copies of passports of the Aus citizens who have done the stat decs??

Yes you do need either certified copies of passports or citizenship certs. for your stat declarations.

And by the way congratulations to everyone who got their visa's.

Oh dear, more nagging to my family in Aus then!!!

I have people in the UK written some statements about or relationship, they have signed and dated and given their name and address, would they need certified copies of their passport aswell?

Lucky I saw this as I was about to submit my application without the certified copies of the people who have done my Stat decs in Aus. Would also be interested to know if you need to do the same for the UK ones!

Same here!!

I wouldn't have known about the certified copies if it wasn't posted in here (thanks!!) I have now in a panic e-mailed my family in Aus to request it. The poor family have had me nagging for the stat decs and now I'll be nagging for these!

Very interested to know if copies of passports etc are required for the UK people though!!

I dont think you need to get cert copies of passports for people who do UK stat decs as infact you arent required to send in stat decs from people in the UK, its just that people suggest it as more evidence.

So we don't need the statement from the people in the UK witnessed then? I have had people write them, sign them, date them with their contact details etc. You think that would be ok?
