Thanks for that mate, I think I will go for my medical around 2 weeks before I submit my application, that way by the time they receive it I will just about be submitting the application itself.

donovandenese I hope it all works out for you, sounds like a pain and makes you wonder what they are doing with your application! :curse:

I had my medical done in November and submitted the application in February - so I don't think you can submit it too soon as such - the only thing we have to bear in mind is that the medical is valid for one year so if we leave it too late to submit the temp spouse visa after we are married then we may need further medicals.

I can't actually say a bad word about my experience with the visa process - I found them quick, efficient and helpful. I know how stressful it all is especially if you are on a time-limit eg. with the baby on the way! I really hope all the pending cases are sorted soon so that we can all be drinking toasts in celebration!

Hey folks, what do you do if you have no evidence of shared bills ?? Me and my wife(the sponsor) have been living together for about a year now but everything bill wise is in my name, she does have her bank statements with our address on but that about it.All our other paperwork is sound and we want to take it to oz house this week,so is the joint bills issue a stumbling block ??

Hi Bernie,

I think the shared bills thing is just one example of things you can submit as proof. They will accept all kinds of stuff like cards to you both wedding invites even emails and stuff to both of you if there is a date on going back far enough. (if your anything like us though we don't keep stuff like that!) I would'nt worry too much about not having them. I have been married 7 years but our utitlities etc are in my name only as I set everything up when we moved in! Just send as much stuff as you can out of the other things on the list and fingers crossed you will be fine!

Hope this helps a bit!

Caz

I hope I'll be able to say the same thing!

How did people write their statements about their relationship? Mine is sounding like a short story, I assume this is OK and there is no set format to write it out in?

Cheers Bernie, this site and in particular this thread has been of great help to me so far some days its hard and its stressful, but im sure it'll be worth it when your told you got the visa

Slightly sensitive question, but my fiancee has to wear a prosthetic leg, do we have to prove this in any way?
