Hello again!
I was worrying about the phone call aspect too - I have a pay as you go phone so didn't get statements with the numbers called, the best I could do was print regularly from the call providers website as it showed the last dozen or so calls made and so showed the number in Australia that I had been calling, but didnt confirm that it was my number that was calling it! I have heard of people that used phone cards and all they did was send in copies of the phone cards and perhaps a sample of phone bills highlighting the call to the number to show how often you called and just attach a little statement to it saying what it shows.
I think we all get a bit paranoid about these things - just try not to worry too much! At the end of the day, you are dealing with real people who will apply common sense to the situation, you just need to make sure that the application is clear and explained well - I reckon that the easier you make it for the CO to understand your application/documentation then the quicker the visa will be granted! They are just there to ensure that it is a genuine and ongoing relationship and that you are genuinely committed to each other. I'm sure you and your fiancee's love will shine through in your statements.

I may have to do the same as you.Hello and welcome to zavros and vidal. I too am in the process of applying for a PMV and hope to submit it, frontloaded, in about 4 weeks time.
I managed to get my doctor to write a letter stating I haven't received any treatment for depression since 2004, so good news there. The whole process has been so stressful and worrying, but this thread and the people have been a great help so far. It's nice to see your not the only one in this position too, so we can all relate to each other.

Ello again everyone,
This is rather new to me and I have not looked 100% into the visa process, some of it is just so hard to find out!
My OH and I have only been together since last July and getting evidence together will be very difficult. We will of course be married and have a beautiful little girl together but I am worried that we'll not have the relevant documents like joint bank statements, bills etc as we had seperate accounts in Oz, after all, neither of us knew where the relationship was going and I certainly had no plans to emigrate at that time.
I have a few things to prove that we lived together, ie a regular order from a cosmetic company delivered to the house!
Some bills were paid on my credit card, but I am getting nervous that these things will not be enough?
My In-Laws can give me statements, is this allowed?
This is all so difficult isn't it?
We just want to be together with our little girl, it's just that OH wants to be back in Oz....

I think im having one of those days today. Did anyone get/gets those days when you feel like you may not have enough to have the visa granted? For those that dont know im about to apply for a prospective marriage visa. Now I can prove I have physically met my fiancee, proof of my recent visit to Brisbane, emails, xmas/valentines day cards etc, phone records, you know the drill but for some reason im fearing the worst today and I havent even submitted my application!

Was very very nervous, so she probably noticed it... It didn't feel like I was being interoggated, which is good! :-)
Asked me the following:
1. Tell me about your relationship commenting on major milestones.

Hi guys - first of all, can I say how glad I am I've found this forum! This whole visa thing has been making me feel sick because it seems like there is so much possibility for it to go wrong!
I wanted to come and introduce myself .... I'm Aussie (Rach) and met my British partner (Che) in Melbourne in September 2005. After some visits back and forth i moved to London in March 2006 and moved straight in with him - we have lived together ever since and now we want to go home and have some babies! I am going home in August - the plan is for me to get settled with a house etc and start working, as i need to be working 3 months before we can start trying for a family...
We are putting his visa in in 2 weeks - I so hope he gets in time to join me in September, which is our current plan.
We are applying for the de facto visa - but the problem, is, we have never 'officially' shared finances. We are strong on the the other criteria - but all we have as evidence of a shared financial relationship is:
Rent receipts (monthly) in both our names from our landlord for past 2 years
Shared travel insurance
Shared flights/hotels etc
Statements from family and friends that he supported me financially for my first 4 months in london
Is this enough?! I'm so scared it is not sufficient - what else can we do? We want to put our application in this month so see little point in opening a shared bank account now .....
Any help or advice much appreciated!! Anyone who wants to ask me questions about Melbourne in return feel free!

Did you pay the rent together or seperately? Is the lease in joint names or just in one name? Do you have a joint account, wills, any financial commitments together?

Our rent was paid togehter. But unfortunately, we have no lease agreement - it has been an less formal arrangement where we have rented from a friend :-(
He has done a stat dec for us saying he rented the place to us as a couple and we shared the rent. But that's all.
No joint account
No wills
No shared financial history ... just our travel insurance and the rent receipts
I could add my partner to my life insurance, and we could do wills now I guess... I could also add him to my Australian bank account ...

Hi, we didn't have anything in the way proof of shared finances. It wasn't a problem - we just explained how we were doing things in the statement. We did do the wills though as it's so easy.

Cant remember if I asked this already but for the prospective marriage visa, we have 2 aussies doing stat decs for us but do we have to have stat decs from people here in the UK too or is that optional?

Me and my Oh also do not have any kind of joint account but we do share all finances. I have just spent the last week going through loads of bank statements and highlighting areas when money has been transferred between our 2 accounts. I am also a little bit concerned about the lack of joint accounts/rental agreements however we have given them as much other information as possible. The big one for us is that my OH took out a loan in order for me to consolidate my debts at the end of last summer. My house was sold in January and I then paid the loan off so I am hoping all the big money transactions that went through both accounts will be a big help to us!! The way I see it now is to overload them on as much other info as possible and hopefully that will be sufficient evidence!! Good luck!
