I got it! Had to phone my case officer for a telephone interview (nothing scary though), and he's now emailed me the letter through saying I've got the visa! Got the subclass 100 one too so I'll be a PR!
Going to take my passport along to Australia House in the morning to get it.
I'm so excited! Can't believe I've actually got it!
Thanks so much to all of you who have helped me through the whole process - you know who you are. But special thanks to my Dotcomrade Medway Mark xx

Think you just apply for the normal one, and they choose to give you the subclass 100 one if they think you meet the requirements (been together 5 years+, or got kids together, I think). It's the same forms etc, you don't have to choose which one to apply for.

HI ALL IN SPOUSE VISA.
Would like some information on schooling in Australia. I have a little girl who turned 9 in August and is in grade 5. (England)
We hope to get back to Australia for May, depending on visa. We are wondering what grade she would go into. She has special needs requirements but does attent a main street school. Does anyone know what support children are given in schools? Just been told that we are only entitled to 8 hours a week support. Which will not be enough to assist her with the transition from junior school in England to high school. Not only that she will only be 10 not yet 11 when she goes into High School. This for any child is difficult but when you have special needs is even more of a test. The only school that would have been suitable for her to attent is now under the treat of closure.
So we are now in a situation that we need all information that anyone could give us.
We are planning on moving to Townsville and I have e-mailed a special needs website but they didn't provide any information to was off any great help. We would be grateful for anyone that has special needs children that have made the move to Australia and been through the process. Melissa was diagnosed with Noonans Syndrome at the age of 2.
We are under the impression that she would go back into year 5 and that she would then have nearly 3 years in junior school before attending high school in Australia. If anyone has any advice you would certainly help put our minds at ease. Thanks in advance for any advice.

hi morcpom1,
my daughter attends heatley secondary school in townsville and i am aware they have a support program for some children, though i would not know if it is suitable for your daughter. unfortunately they are on summer holidays just now and dont go back till the end of january, but you could try contacting them nearer the time and see if they are a viable option.
i hope the link works

Hi All
i am a dual citizen as i was born in Oz but family moved back to UK when i was 3. My family (wife and 2 girls) are moving over to Oz next year. I have just received Citizen by Descent certificates for the girls last week and will be popping down to London in January to get all three of us a passport.
My question to all you knowledgeable people is my wifes spouses visa. I have gathered she should be able to go for the Perm Res as we have been married 10 years and have two kids.
But does anyone know what forms we need to fill in and can she she lodge it when i go for the passports in Jan. I know the Visas office is in a different part of the building to the Passport office.
how much would the visa cost and how long would it take? Would she need to have a medical and police check?
Any help would be apprecitated.
Thanks in advance and Merry Xmas
