It's all bush for a long way so no harm done. I know they won't come back because only chickens can cross a road.

Anyway to catch them do this:-

1. Get a large kitchen sieve. You can tape a longer handle on if need be. (I don't, I use it as is).

2. Get a piece of card - a side of a large cereal box will do.

3. A broom.

Always keep these handy.

Work the spider to a lower level using the broom. When it is within reach place the sieve over it with a dash of speed. Once trapped, slide the card under the sieve and you have the spider. Carefully lift the card and sieve with spider together and choose a neighbour to let it go and visit.

Job done.

By the fact that you save (shudders and goes white at the thought) these huntsman spiders i presume these arent that scary.

Those with a sick sense of humour need not reply

I dont want to google it cos i will then have to read everything and see pics which means then I will run out of PRN which i need lol

Out of all the pics that I've seen on the internet it looked the closest to a huntsman. The body was a lot fatter though.

You need to get a lot closer next time to get a good pic for ID purposes.

If one of those was above the kitchen door I'd would also be reaching for the insect killer! As it was I was afraid that the one I killed this morning might jump onto me as I leant forward towards it while standing on a chair
