Default Spiders!

I just woke up and went to the kitchen for a glass of water. Above the door was this. Sorry they're not very clear but any idea what kind it is?

Hmmmn I should know better. I was being nosy and now I have to look at the pics and make them bigger. I am not a fan on bugs and things especially spiders. Where is the sand (looks around frantically) Need to put a stop on looking at these types of threads.

Bangs head on the wall need PRN stat

Well it's dead now. Took three hard swipes with wifey's magazine to splat it. Now waiting for it's vengeful mother to appear!

I'm just glad that I was the one who found it. My OH would have woken the household. For me it was just the sudden shock of first seeing it and the nervous moments as I lifted the magazine to kill it.

It was way way worse many many years ago when my girlfriend of that time found a snake in the bedroom: Me trying to despatch the snake while the GF screamed uncontrollably

Not very clear, but probably a huntsman. Well done for killing it with 3 swipes of the magazine, they usually move much too fast for that.

I usually use half a can of fly spray LOL!!

Yes, looking at the charts it does look like a huntsman. It's body looked a bit bigger but it's legs are unmistakable. Maybe it was due to lay eggs? Still, it wont be laying anything now.

Now what to do about the hundreds of cockatoos that are causing a fracas outside this morning...

Get a water cannon and squirt the buggers. I'd prefer a rifle though.

Looks like a hunstman. We've had quite a few now, caught them and let them go across the road.

A catapult comes to mind!

Not sure about the ones annoying Quoll. There are some which make an almost quadraphonic noise ( sorry, the best way I can describe them). They seem to cluster in the late afternoons and make a racket. It's quite an "out of this world" kind of noise really. They were particularly bad near Lyneham shops the other day.

What did your neighbours across the road have to say about that?

It was as much as I could do to kill the spider. Being nice and gentlemanly to it while it was perched there just above my head would really have been asking too much

...I'm not terrified of spiders but they do give me the heebie jeebies. A bit.

RIP poor little huntsman spider.

To make up for your carnage, paulry, i've been carefully cultivating a whole egg sack of the little darlings and released them into the garden just the other day.

It's carcass is still laying there next to the kitchen bin. Maybe I should bury it to make up for being beastly to it?
