We don't need accountants, doctors or engineers. We need cleaners and gardeners.

They should introduce a new visa type for Poles and Romanians with no skills and unable to speak English to fill the vacancies that actually exist. It works in the UK

Well, from experience, even those with the skill requirements, they don't want us once we get here.

I just wish they would put 'Birmingham based curry house proprietor' on the SOL, so that I could stand half a chance of getting a decent chicken Madras...

I would have thought "Bradford" were the curry kings

Either/Or. I'm not fussy. Just something that is hotter than chicken Korma would be nice.

Agree, they just don't know how to make a mean curry over here

Nope. Their idea of a super hot and spicy curry is my idea of an ice cream, or maybe a yoghurt...

Have you tried Kabalason in Joondalup? It really is very nearly the real thing. Proper hot and spicy if you get the chicken Narbersomethingorotherverylong.

The Beuamaris shops do an interesting curry too - as different to an English curry as thai is but still very good in its own way. The one we had was quite sweet and had almonds in but it was quite hot and very tasty.

Tell me about it. there's none more skilled than myself at what I do, a year ago I sent off 12 job applications and didn't even get one reply. Needless to say I gave up and do it for myself now.

The whole skilled migration thing is just a con to make money. Protectionism and anti pom sentiment make it very hard to actually use your skills here unless you can become self employed in them.

Hi yeah I came out on a skilled visa, mental health nurse, BUT the crazy thing is I can choose to work at any job I please. Does not make any sense.

What anti-pom sentiment? I have seen no evidence of any, in fact quite the opposite. Maybe you live in the wrong place

It does cost money for certain trades to get licenced, but it's not just the 'poms' who pay, Aussies have to pay the same fees.

The average Aussie thinks a bit of 'pepper' on their dinner is HOT! ...

Paul had that one a little while ago after I told him that you had one! He thought he was going to die!. My fave from there is the spinach and paneer, a vege dish I know but totally yummy.

Nor here....

Cant understand why they are advertising to attract people to jobs when they could easily force the long term unemployed to either take the jobs or have their benefits stopped
