Why are the police in the background doing nothing?. Drinking in public,animal cruelty, carrying a LIDL bag AND wearing a Rankers top. Worth 6 months at least. People get hung in Singapore for less FFS. Charles Darwins theories about each generation being stronger and more intelligent than the preceeding one is totally blown out of the water with these photos.
P.S : not Photo-shopped as far as I know.

IMHO the weather plays a big part in the depressing feelings in the UK.
Over here you can have no money in the bank and still sit on the free beach, watching your kids frolick in the free sea!!
Here in Oz work can be crap, neighbours can be crap, cost of living can be mega high etc etc etc... but at least its warm and the sun is shining!! It sounds simple but it does make it more bearable!
We spent Easter weekend by the sea and barbi 'ing with some friends... 4 of the best days I have ever had and it cost us a few bottles of wine and food... We spent a lot less than we would have had to back in Wales. Since living here I have never spent so much time OUT of the house

Nothing wrong with the UK, it's a fab place. So is Aus with all the same problems, sometimes worse, sometimes better, Don't ever run from a place, run to a place and enjoy the experience and the adventure. Everything you think you hate about the UK can be found here. Utopia doesn't exist and would be deathly dull if it did.
I agree about the weather though. Sounds like it's been a fairly rubbish 12 months and I don't do cold weather, makes me ill.

We don't all stand around having BBQs all day either. Sometimes it rains or is just too plain hot/humid or you just can't be bothered with the mess
and bung it in the microwave and stick a load of salad with it.

There are good and bad things in both England and Australia as people have previously said. I do think that the space and sunshine of Australia add to a persons wellbeing. Where I live in UK a journey that would have taken 20 minutes a couple of years back now can take an hour plus. Having 3 kids to run around my life is ebbing away sitting in traffic. 
There are just too many people here for such a small place. It's driving me nuts. 
We visited relatives in WA for a month in December, stayed in a house of our own and did daily chores. Even enjoyed doing the washing and ironing as I wasn't waiting around to get the next load into the tumble dryer, few minutes outside and it's done. Took my cousins to the activities they do but it didn't feel stressful like UK as it didn't take hours to get there and back! We spent everyday outside which made us all feel healther and happier. 
3rd Jan arrive at Gatwick, being given instructions to go to another queue by a member of staff that doesn't speak English but got there in the end by pure sign language and following everyone else!
Step outside 
it's just starting to snow and soooooooo cold. One week on and taking my own kids to their activities, sitting in traffic stressing if we'll get there in time even though we left even earlier than normal and the same long queue's of traffic getting home again. :curse:
This is our life, true not everyone's is the same but Australia is definately for us if we can ever get a sponsor and get there.

I love this site. so un-PC. Just what I have been looking for.
I do some voluntary work at a housing charity but getting fed up with that cos all the clients are just useless tw**s who bring problems on themselves ie. getting eviction notices for loud music and parties. One woman rang me up and said she had an eviction notice for not paying the rent. Oh yeah? Well fancy that. She even said she thought they would let her off over Christmas. I nearly pissed myself laughing. I must try that one with Alliance and Leicester when they want their mortgage payment this month. 'Oh, hello? is that downtown Delhi call centre? Hello. I am sick of this place. I am sick of the weather, sick of all the useless, feckless lumps in society who can't be bothered to work. All the useless young men hanging around the shopping mall in the middle of the day when they should be working. Sick of dog poo round my area and kids hanging about smoking in their designer trainers and tracksuits whilst their parents probably spend their money on fags and beer instead of giving their kids a good diet. I am sick of political correctness where you can get put away for giving a cheeky scoundrel a clip round the ear. I am sick of the suing culture. I am sick of selfish people who park in mother and child spaces just because they want to park right outside the supermarket. I am sick of a society where no one speaks to their neighbours and we all live in our own little boxes with scant regard for anyone else.
I need to escape!! Will Australia give me what I am looking for? Is it a better life? Is it just same old thing wherever you go?

One of the great things about Oz is that you can get lost if you want to. I mean..you can go and live in the bush in total isolation and it would probably be a long time before someone discovered your hut.
Real example: an Englishman dropped off the radar on an island off Central Queensland. There was no-one else there but him for a long time. He built himself a house and sold home made mango chutney,and bought things from, passing yachties. The point is: that sort of thing is still possible here.
You can escape people, civilization, you can refresh your thoroughly fried brain with nature. You can see the stars. You can feel your soul.

yes, although wouldn't personally want to live on an island and get by on chutney sales, i take your point. I visited some very remote areas in Australia in WA and NT. WOuldn't want to live in them but good for the soul as you say.
Feeling better now thanks. Just need to sell my houses and I'm away. and the chances of that right now? Big fat zero! Early days though. Might be some deranged person out there who thinks it's a good time to buy.
