It's got nothing to do with a Royal turning up to the changing of the guard. If the Royal Family were no more then I could pretty much guarantee that there would not be as many people turning up to see it as the ceremony would be fake and unmeaningful. To actually know that they ARE protecting the Queen means it has a higher importance.

How many foreigners actually go to St Paul's just because that's where Charles & Di got hitched? How many more would go if Prince William got married there?
Less than the number that would go to buck palace or windsor palace if they were open to the public all the time.

....for the first ten or so years until most people have seen it, then the novelty would wear off and they wouldn't bother so much anymore.
You cannot deny that the Royal Family is a tourism draw card

It's Anti-Scottish. Any Scot who sings it is putting England ahead of Scotland.
All Scots should boo it at any opportunity.

People will come with or without them. The family itself is not the draw card it's the accoutriments.

Of course we should keep em on, doing a sterling job. I was more than happy to see good old prince harry and his chums having a free ride round donnington this weekend on the back of a 2 seater ducati gp bike without having to pay a penny for it. And he rode his very own motorbike to the event, probably with a full speed escort to protect the top army type bloke he is, had to trail round the paddock and meet all the plebs from moto gp too!
Hurrah for the royals, they work like spoilt useless pissed up interbreeding adultering sausage jocky money grabbing freeloading twonks day in day out. hip hip hurrah. Pass the pimms.

Of course not. We quite like the Welsh & the Geordies (mainly because they don't like the cockneys )
