The problem is that trusts have become very tight with people off sick we have to report in weekly to say we are still sick as you have to be available to your work if they find something you can do.

I would like to go to Oz until April but I have to be here cos they are going to talk to the neurosurgeon who may want to re examine me I was told.
mostly its hanging around

OH has been promised that if I have surgery his firm will relocate him back to the UK for a few months but he cant push them too far as they have been brilliant so far considering he only started work for them in January.

Really sorry to hear that, Kim.

I am not sure what's involved, just wondering if you can't say you want the op now rather than waiting and seeing what may/may not happen? Then after the op you can go?

I can of course leave OH in Oz , go through another 7 months on my own and join him when I am sorted, but I really feel I need him here with me, I'm a bit selfish I know.

I am trying to work out ways and means of us being together and also keeping Oz.
If I come to Oz now the NHS would wipe its hands of me and I would be jobless and broke.
Definitely NOT selfish hun. You need his support. Isn't that what marriage is all about?!
I know it's really hard right now, but try & stay positive.

but it may mean the end of Oz for me as I want my OH with me he has been in Oz since January and we are on his sponsored visa. He can't have more compassionate leave, so if he comes back to be with me it means the end of Oz.

You brave girl! I didn't realise Asher that you were going through this.
I guess an operation will be a major thing, and monitoring your progress from now til then is vitally important.

Hard as it is, your best option is to stay UK side and get the best treatment. Don't even think about travel. (sorry) Perhaps your husband can get concessions and come over for visits, otherwise he should return and then re-apply later after you have been given the all clear.

Your dreams are not over - they are on hold. Your health is paramount.

I really admire your strength and positive nature. It may be that after rest and monitoring that decide you don't need an operation. Injuries are funny things - they need time to recoup and the human body is an amazing piece of kit!

Sending you a prayer for support and solutions - sorry i have nothing more to offer.

Thanks all for all your kindness and support,

I have a cunning plan that may get me to Oz

It involves a few fibs but who cares

I may yet be seeing you all in Oz
