I like the colour of the walls, I'd say keep them. The floor is where the most difference will be made. Firstly is the floor a solid tile in herringbone pattern? Its a bit hard to see.

If it is it could be covered with a tiled effect lino (cheapest way) similar to your work surfaces or tile splashbacks. Tell viewers what is underneath the lino cos that would add value to your home. Lightening the floor will give viewers a feeling of space, they can then lighten the walls if they want to. Some people haven't got the ability of visualisation, therefore by making one change instead of both it can make a statement as well as giving potentional buyers to chance to change something for themselves.

I think the market is picking up - spring is on it's way, everyone's feeling chirpier and looking for a fresh start in a different house

well iv been out this am and put bark down in the fron lawn (to cover the weeds!!) and planted some primroses!

you cant fault me for trying, going to hang till the weekend before painting!.........you never know!

I used to be an estate agent before I had my daughter. Its boring I know but plain colours sell! People want to see a blank canvas not someone elses taste. Keep all walls cream and paint the cupboards cream as well. fresh flowers in all rooms and keep the house smelling nice and very tidy, get rid of any clutter and make sure evrey room is set up as it says on the particulars with the Agent. Ie, if its a bed with a study, make sure you have a bed in each room, and the study set up with a computer etc, that way people can visualise it. Most people dont really have any imagination so you have to discreetly show them the use of each room.
