I think the kitchen looks lovely
Maybe just paint it all cream though and it may appeal to more people.

among other things. Why not try painting the walls cream and seeing if that makes a difference.

but the colour needs to be in tune with the broadest number of potential buyers so cream or magnolia will help. What have your agents advised?Dont take changing colours etc personally - this bunch of broadest potential buyers have a very boring set of tastes. I must take a shot of our dining room wall (it is a rental and no we didnt do it). Just have to wait until Friday when all the boxes are loaded in to the container

Our house is gradually all going neutral colours stone/biscuit/cream in preparation for going on the market.

Agree with above. Forget personal preference and go with a neutral light colour.
It will bring out the colour of the wood units and make the kitchem seem even larger and brighter.

Have you thought about replacing the floor with a lighter vinyl tile, that way you lighten up the room and draw peoples focus to the kitchen rather than the floor. You dont need to spend much, B&Q do cheap packs of tiles, and it is relatively easy to do.
Love the oak kitchen by the way, I would love one in my house, but the kitchen is too small.

Paint it white. It is very neutral, very bright, and makes a room look larger.
Just gone through my apartment doing exactly this, and to be honest, have been thinking 'should have done this years ago'..!
I've been watching to many TV prgrams on home decorating...I need to get out more!

do you know what, you have hit the nail on the head here, i have just painted my kitchen virtually!!! with the crown paint a room tool, and creams and whites wash it out completely, it looks boring, but yes a lighter kitchen flooring may do the trick..............
the only other colour which contrasted nicely was a tuscan green ,and if im going to paint it green, i might as well stay with my deep red!!!! cause both colours could offend, i think way forward could be flooring, perhaps it this that gives it that "too much red" feel,
but what do i know, im no designer lol
appreciating the help guys

Lovely kitchen but red is a colour that I like but doesn't suit everyone and can make it seem a bit dark so I'd paint the walls cream if it's not too much bother.

Ooh yes or if you could change the floor even better - people think that's a big job and might be put off but it's not really and can be done really cheaply.

I think the colour is fab. We had the most horrendous wallpaper in our kitchen. Squares with fruit and vegetables scattered everywhere. We never changed it cos after a while we stopped seeing it and my husband aint to good at diy! After the house had been on the market for several months, with no offers, we decided to paint over it with a neutral colour and got an offer the next week. Took a few coats and a couple of days but at least the house sold!
Some people have no taste!!
Lou
ps. i think if you painted it cream as suggested previously, it may detract form the brightness of the floor.
