I reckon tiling - I'm a bit dubious about wooden floors in kitchen, too slippy

You want a nice creamy colour floor, something that matches your tiles / worktop . If you used wood or wood effect then you would need it to match the cupboards which will again be over the top.

Also put away as much stuff as you can, and anything on show try to colour co-ordinate. For example the toaster could go away as it doesn't match the kettle. It's really little picky stuff but it all helps.

Our house is now completely cream or magnolia through-out. It hurt getting rid of our favourite colours from the walls, but they were, after all, our favourite colours and probably not anyone else's. It hurts to 'de-you' the place, but it's part of the process of detaching yourself from it so that you can sell it I guess. So yes, paint over the red with magnolia, cream or one of the myriad off-whites

i could kiss you all, i have spent days pondering paints, and stuff in this kitchen the rest of the house is nuetral colours, biscuits and creams etc, which is why i wanted funky kitchen!!!!

in an hr, we established it needed light/brightness, a cream colour, and then we had the brilliant idea of the flooring, which will give light and not be so messy for me

so im off to the shops to find some creamy type colour flooring, pref tiles, that are simple....................only thing is it wont be cheap!!! as theres a utility as well!!!! god i wont tell hubby!!!................

I love your kitchen as it is, but I agree with everyone else too, neutral is the way to go for a sale.

What about a lovely cappucino colour? mmmmmm.
Our house is gradually becoming a magnolia haven! lol.

When we bought our house, the vendors kept us talking by making us a cup of coffee and telling us all about the neighbours etc.... so get the kettle on too and supply them with some yummy choccy biscuits, they will buy it and keep coming back for second look, measure up curtains etc ! lol.

Best of luck Mand,

love Jackie x

Have you thought about replacing the floor with a lighter vinyl tile, that way you lighten up the room and draw peoples focus to the kitchen rather than the floor. You dont need to spend much, B&Q do cheap packs of tiles, and it is relatively easy to do.

Love the oak kitchen by the way, I would love one in my house, but the kitchen is too small.
Yeap, I agree just change the flooring

Yes we have laminate floor tiles - they're slate effect - I wanted real slate but was a bit worried about little un falling over on them and cracking his head! (I worry about everything!).

Cheap self adhesive vinyl tiles will do the trick. Stick over the top, but get some evo stick floor adhesive as the tiles are never sticky enough.
