Funny thing is that the SNP are STILL trying to claim things are other than the statements made.

There is sitting there, fingers in ears, shouting 'la, la, la' - and there is psychosis. They are getting close to the funny farm level IMHO.

Salmond is screwed. He put lots of eggs in one basket - and that basket now has so many holes its basically fallen apart.

This is why I have never liked nationalists. They're always too narrow in their outlook they never see the broader picture.

Of course they will not, they have a very real Catalan problem themselves.

Catalan/Spain etc - it's interesting how so many Europeans see the answer to rise of China and the collapse of Europe as going inwards and backwards to small national groups. You'd think they would want to be part of a more coherent bloc with closer trade/politics etc. to counter balance the Chinese and yet they're trying to do the opposite. It's like they're in crisis mode or something.

Update from La-La Land:

The SNP is now saying the President of the EU doesn't know what he's talking about and his view is 'without foundation'.

http://www.heraldscotland.com/news/h...ion.1355250518

Putting aside for a moment the reality that he's pretty much in exactly the position to make policy on this matter, this is real "how to win friends and influence people" stuff from the SNP - saying they head honcho of the organisation you need to be a member of doesn't know what he's talking about. I'm sure that will go down great with Barroso...

Yehp most of the oil and gas has gone now.... So they can go forth etc etc ;) Starting to cost Westminster money and they can't have that can they.

Conversely NZ is bound to have something worth exploiting so it's time to bring them into the Australian stable.... They can POQ after anything worthwhile has gone as well :sneaky: Hmmm great spot for the boat people maybe.

They are going to have to work hard to force Scotland out, the polls suggest most don't want much to do with it. Even Camaroon calling them lazy, shifty, workshy criminals probably wouldn't be enough to force them to vote for independence.

Mind, given his poor position in the polls, he NEEDS to force out the scottish MPs before 2015 - if he's to keep Labour in check.
