In fact, my cousin's little girl attended the school, think she might even still be there.

Here is a link (can't find a website).

Yeah OK then. There's obviously a need for a BBC site in Gaelic 'cos, despite all the figures available to the contrary, there must be a massive demand for it.

There are 2153 primary schools in Scotland... when you try to go to the page that covers Gaelic in Scottish schools, to see how many teach it, guess what you get??

You can read up on all your statistics all you like, but you can't judge because you don't live there. Most Scottish people I know would have jumped at the chance to learn Gaelic. It's something that is spoken about quite a lot and has been over the years.

I would jump at the chance of learning Mandarin, but in reality I can't be arsed to do it..... just like the Scots and Gaelic.

It's easy to claim "Most Scottish people I know would have jumped at the chance to learn Gaelic" but the fact is that over 98% of them haven't.

Have you?

No I haven't. I wasn't given the choice at school.

I haven't bothered to learn Spanish or Italian either, or brain surgery coming to think on it, but would love to. It's got nothing to do with not being arsed to bother, rather a time thing as we get older.

Course it is. If there's something you really want to do you find the time.

We're all the same. We all say there's loads we "really want to do" but never get round to. "Too busy" is the excuse we use to justify not really being that bothered.
