Default Sausage, egg and chips

The other day I was feeling quite lazy so i made sausage egg and chips for tee. The kids just looked at it and went ewghhh. We have been in Oz now for over three years and the kids are 13 and 15. And they cant remember having this Great British staple supper. Any one else with similar experiences..... By the way The kids absolutly love it.

I do have a vague memory of my Aussie husband telling me it was a very odd combination to have as a meal - he preferred eggs with pork chops! Only cooked it a couple of times though before I realised the reasons Aussies don't eat it is cos their sausages are vile

Good sausages are available, just not from Coles or Woolworths.

Friday night favourite of mine before we came out here if i had to work early on Saturday and not able to have an intake of alcohol Only thing was it HAD to be Richmond Irish Sausages (nothing else was good enough imho) 2 runny eggs and hand cut chips not the crappy oven ones ! A meal to die for but it don't look like happening til at least Easter 2013 at the earliest

Ask your husband what you put on a pizza to make it an 'Aussie' ? The most ridiculous thing since anchovies.

I never got the whole and egg and chips thing. They just dont seem to mix. Sausages, chips and beans though, that works as good as any meal ever put on a plate.
