Sad Passing

Okay..potted history...
A couple of years back a guy called timber who was a member here on BE had a bit of a fall-out with the admins here (never worked out why) & went off to start his own forum.
It acquired a bit of a "cult" status on account of the fact that the admins here banned any reference whatsoever to this alternative expat forum & quite a few of us went off to spend time supporting timber in his new venture.
Lots of us never had any gripe with BE though & quite happily posted both here & on the other forum (under Tommy's bed in the dark) & I must admit, had a bit of a giggle about the sometimes daft decisions that went on over here wrt to the in-crowd & the rules.
However, things went a bit pear-shaped, as it always will when you have a collection of people with their own individual outlook on life, & timber struggled I think (my opinion only) with what he saw was the lack of commitment from the members. He really worked hard on the site & deserved for it to do better.
So this morning, he pulled the plug & it seems that some people feel the need to gloat...the fact that they now feel the need to do it here, on BE, the very site they took the p*ss out of for all those months, is a measure of the hypocracy of these posters....hey ho, that's life I guess.
Hope that helps those who are in the dark

And on that note, thread closed. Not because of any bad feelings, but because a lot of people have become very confused by the thread, and because I am sure that anyone who needs to discuss it further can do so off the open forum.
