Pips will kill the acid, not the vomit. That will reduce stress on the stomach. Elimination diets are not that easy and your list does not cover the top contenders for intolerance.
easy.....
lose weight
give up alcohol, fatty, spicy and acidic food
don't eat too much, especially in the evening
avoid aspirin and anti-inflammatories
sleep upright
if you can't be arsed with all that, get a script for some medication called a proton pump inhibitor, which will banish the symptoms with absolutely no effort required on your part to change anything.
any other questions?

I hope you're okay
I had acid reflux just before I left the UK. Gave me quite a scare it did. I was beginning to think I had cancer. It caused a growing lump in my throat that food would catch on. Felt very uncomfortable. I repeatedly saw the quack about it but he just sent me away saying there was nothing wrong. Then about 10 days before we flew out it got worse so I returned to the quack and that time a locum was on duty. He instantly recognised the problem, prescribed two kinds of pill and it all cleared up in 3 days. Looking back, something that I believe makes a big difference: I used to drink a lot of strong black coffee with artificial sweeteners. Now I've ditched the sweeteners and drink a lot less coffee and only white. It feels like it helps.

I had exactly the same thing, feeling like I had a lump in my throat.Saw a few different docs, they all said the same thing,I had globus. So in other words I was imagining it. Very frustrating... Luckily I have a brilliant doc here in Oz, who recognized I had GORD . I find if I eat/drink anything slightly acidic, lime cordial, grapefruit etc,it starts it off. Also eating a heavy meal late at night is a no no,as well as overdoing it on the old fried foods.
My doc prescribed some med which worked a treat, but I have just looked for them and cant find them ,so unfortunately cant tell you what they are called. There were 8 little tabs in like a little booklet. Sorry that prob doesnt help much,if I find them i will post their name. Hope you are feeling better soon

Hate to disagree but, I was given a general anaesthetic for my gastroscopy, but they misjudged the amount of anesthetic, so I was still concious and choking while they stuffed the camera down my throat.
When it was over the doctor was really surprised when I sat up and told him that was AGONY. I thought I was going to choke to death.

I was given an IV sedation. I was able to chose the level of sedation I wanted...I said I didn't want to feel, see or hear anything and I didn't. In the US it is normal to be given IV sedation for minor procedures and surgeries rather than a general anaesthetic. I have had IV sedation several times without any problems.

The beauty of IV sedation is that you come round almost straightaway with no side effects...although I felt sleepy for a short time. I was not allowed to drive home.

- I'm having one done next week and need to work out the logistics of getting home, getting the kids later, etc, etc.

By the time you get home you should feel fine. Obviously the hospital has to cover itself by not allowing you to drive home...just in case...
