Default Red wine

Just arrived back from 1st choice liquor. We bought a bottle of "mount pleasant original vineyard Rosehill shiraz 2007" - pretty expensive by my standards at $27. (this one is currently unopened, will report back in a day or so with a review)

Also grabbed a bottle of "Wyndham estate bin 555 shiraz 2008" whilst waiting to pay. $9 for this one, and I'm on my second glass. If I was a wine critic I would probably give it the following review:

Very drinkable. Will get you p*ssed after a bottle.

Anyone else drinking tonight?

I'm drinking McGuigan Black Label Moscato. I believe it retails for around $12 (I get it for free with my allowance from work )

I like it

Well I spend all day shuffling paper and taking phone calls from people wanting money (accounts payable). I think it's worth it

Afraid I have resorted to a cleanskin from Dan Murphy's. 7/8 of the bottle gone and still standing. Is that good or bad?

Is it any good though? I've had a few cleanskins but only 1 or 2 that were ok.

A friend once gave me a glass of red from a crate that he'd bought on graysonline for $40, a cancelled export to USA he told me. One of the best red wines I've ever tasted, can't remember what it was called though.

No, I'm off the alcohol. Completely

Last friday came home from work at 1in the afternoon and because HE couldnt come home and hug me (i was distraught with the work situation, couldnt stop crying) I PURPOSEFULLY drank myself unconscious... With cointreau.

Which is an undignified and dangerous thing to do... Well past that "i'm having a glass to take the edge off of things stage.... Well past acceptable ... Well beyond ok...

So I am alcohol free until I'm better from the stress... Then I can ENJOY a glass of something again.... I come from a family with alcoholic tendencies so wont go down that route...

I'll let you know when I fancy a drink and have a decent glass of wine and dont NEED a drink so get myself faceless....

Sorry not to be able to contribute anything to this conversation in my sober state.

No wine for me either, due to elevated liver enzymes from the drugs I'm on. I don't drink very much anyway, but look forward to my glass of wine on a friday night. And Saturday. (2 glasses a week.)

Mind you, I was too fatigued to drink yesterday anyway and was in bed and asleep by 9.

Easy, got large glass, poured it from bottle drank it, refilled, drank it, refilled, drank it, refilled drank it.... Until I couldnt co ordinate the refil bit, then closed my eyes....

Would have been chivas regal, but that was at the back of the shelf and cointreau was at the front... Couldnt be arsed to reach up further... Tnat and I still have 4 litres of cointreau and only one of regal....
