Lots of English people in OZ call themselves ' POMS' , will they be arrested for doing that.

Quote from Mr Thomason.

"These songs that the Aussie supporters sing talk about we can't get near you because of your smell, your body odour, your bad breath, your buck teeth, your whingeing, have you got some soap," he said.

"The worst you hear from the Barmy Army is that Aussies are sheep shaggers and you all live in a penal colony."
This is typical of what I experienced from a lot of (but not all) English people when I lived in England. They're quite happy to take the piss out of other nationalities but whine like hell when people take the piss out of them.

Some poms have the banter and some don't.

:)

l agree its often the ones that go around putting down other nationalities, for example saying Aussies are thick or kangaroo or sheep shaggers etc, that can't take it when someone takes the piss out of their nationality.

Jeepers - some people have evidently got too much free time on their hands...

On the matter of the advertisment in question - the only reason a glass of Tooheys New is a Poms worst nightmare is because is so f***ing horrible!

Since coming to live in the UK just over two years back I have been refered to as a 'jafa' (as in 'just another ******* Aussie') and asked when us Aussie's are going to get our stinking stars of the Poms flag. I haven't minded that much - it's the warm beer that's just too much to stomach!

Sadly it's these sort of whinging PC idiots who are going to give Poms a bad name... Do they not understand that?

Bangs head against wall....

Now, if I called him a "twat" that would be derogatory but in this case it would be completely justified....

Completely agree. I've never been called a Pom by anyone apart from my FIL in gentle joshing which is the spirit I'd take it in from anyone....

Oh, well that's alright then.

Because we all know that accusations of bestiality and criminality are far less insulting than the word "Pom".

This pathetic little man is the epitome of the very worst kind of Englishman; dull, nit-picking, humourless, bigoted and supremely arrogant, yet afflicted with a deep-rooted insecurity complex which finds its greatest expression in a frenzy of spittle-flecked xenophobia.
