You should try it sometime, it aint pleasent, in fact its the pits. Stress and anxiety is an understatement.
No, but I never shot someone through a bathroom door while assuming my OH was fast asleep 2m away.

I've been tempted, but my mother-in-law stays in a separate wing of the house.

So he's probably stressed to the max. If that's what his defence has called it is what it is. I can't imagine he's lying about stress levels.

I imagine facing a life sentence in a South African prison would be somewhat stressful.

You imagined correctly. Prisons are not designed to be a places for wilting daisies.

I reckon, but could be wrong, the best way to avoid being stressed about going to prison, would be to not shoot someone four times through a door. Radical thought though obviously.

Exactly. I would suggest Reeva also had a bit of stress as her boyfriend was firing shots at her through a bathroom door, and even more stressful when the bullets hit and you know the end is coming for you. Now I know that would make me intensely stressful. So the boy gets a trip to the big chair to perform for the doc. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-27405303

I'll bet he's now receiving the best coaching that money can buy in readiness for his psychiatric evaluation.

Do you reckon he's going to pull this off or what?

I'm not sure. The defence is desperately trying everything. The judge so far seems to have been a bit of a pushover with Pistorius but her reputation suggests that she's anything but:

http://guardianlv.com/2014/03/pistor...against-women/

It's looking more and more like one of those crime detective movies. The kind that has a twist at the end.
