I would characterise it as be accepting things are not going well (since its expected) and happy when things do pan out.

The original prediction for Rio was 18 golds for GB, and they are currently on 15 half way through. So unless it all comes to a grinding halt, they are likely to do better than expected.

Brilliant night for Team GB; sat up into the wee hours to watch Murray win an enthralling final against DelPo. I couldn't help reflect on the effort required to beat 63 of the world's top tennis players in 6 matches including a gruelling over 4 hour final with what is required in some other sports (and tennis was an original 1896 sport).

Channel 7 coverage hasn't been too bad I don't think, the commentary from 'experts' has been shocking though and the 'premium' channels would be worth the $20 if the streaming wasn't so shite. My phone has gone on a major go slow just by having the app installed let alone trying to watch/check stuff.

Got to say, the reporters there seem to be the classless act. By definition, it all happened behind him, so he's not about to have the same view of it as people watching the video during the race. Then to have a microphone stuffed in your face and be accused of being the bad guy when you have just won a medal....

That's funny. He was looking directly at the Korean when he rode directly into him and sent him to hospital.

Well defended though, no cigar unfortunately.

Both a Brazilian and a Dutch journalist claimed Cavendish threatened legal action when he thought they were suggesting he had deliberately caused a controversial crash that resulted in one rider leaving the Velodrome by ambulance and very nearly ended the race for the eventual gold medallist, Elia Viviani.

There was an earlier dig at the BBC for making him wait in the interview area while they completed their analysis of the race. 'They would be straight on for Brad, wouldn't they?' he said, before giving a series of more serious answers to the questions posed to him.

And it was clear that there was some lingering resentment about the team pursuit after the tension that developed here in Rio between himself and Sir Bradley Wiggins.
Make no mistake, Cavendish holds Wiggins partly responsible for the decision that left him out in the cold for the team pursuit.

What, through the eyes that were in the back of his head? How could he possible be 'looking directly at' someone when his rear wheel hit the front wheel of Park.

Not sure which race you are watching. He looks at him, sizes it up, then off he goes, straight into him.

I'd be more tempted to give him the benefit out the doubt had he been willing to have a chat about it, but instead he threatened to sue 2 reports - guilt guilt guilt.
