I used to like the cream off the top of milk in bottles.

The mother used to 'steal' it and keep it in a special cup in the fridge for when she wanted it. If anyone else took it or shook the bottle, she'd go ballistic.

I used to use skim, but no longer. It is watered down milk effectively

Remember the days of glass milk bottles being left on your door step and the birds pecking off the foil top to get at the cream.

Or it coming in frozen solid in winter.

Also remember standing in line every morning at nursery for my little milk bottle, happy days.

That's a blast from the past: the pleasure of drinking the first 15% or so from a pint of milk

...And with the "gold top" milk you got even more

We still had glass bottles right up to coming here 9 years ago.

And I was still getting free school milk when I was 18.

Don't touch it. It's hydrogenated.

Thanks for this link which was interesting and lead to another interesting link about coconut and other cooking oils. Honestly, I think I'll steer clear of coconut oil. Not sold on it now.
