Tuesday Baybee

it's like Geri Haliwell with Bluebell Madonna thats a name i feel sorry for the child as she gets older she will probably just get referred to as Belle.

I like unusual names but some are just too far out!!

I like the idea of combining our two names together to make a unique name for our child

If it's a girl, it will be called Simonna and if it's a boy, it will be called Domon. Middle names will be a combination of our middlen names - Elbru or Brusta.

That's what the parents of that Malandra oodgermaflip who used to be Emmerdale did. Their names are Malcolm & Sandra. Not keen myself.

Oh, that's a lovely name - if only I and OH were called Malcolm and Sandra. Maybe we should get our names changed by deed poll so we can call our child Malandra if it's a girl?

When we chose the name for our first, we looked at an atlas from the province we were living in and took all the place names that could be people names. e.g. Queen Charlotte Islands, Hope, Victoria, Courtenay, Prince George,
Everett, Duncan. I know there were more, but can't remember. We had the girl ones in a pink hat and the boy ones in a blue hat and on the day of the birth when the midwife said "you have a girl" my hub picked a name out of the pink hat. We always knew that Joy would be a middle name for our girl and when hub pulled a name out Charlotte was the name he picked.
For our second one we named him Colin after Canadian musician Colin James, who had been a neighbour of ours when we lived on the west coast.
We had friends who named their daughter Kryssi Celine. Now where is that puking smiley when you need it?

Ok, I work with a Skye. She really fits her name, too. She's this real hippie chick. Very blond and almost etherial. My neice is Krystal (although I think it sounds like a stripper name).
I work in an office that deals with a LOT of people and one of my workmates and I sit and chuckle at all the bogan names. There was a big rush of names ending with "lene" back in the late '50s and early '60s here: Raelene, Joylene, etc.
I think people have to realise that a name is for eternity. What may be cute or trendy today could be a real pain in the bum later in life for someone. Dweezil Zappa or Zowie Bowie are perfect examples.

oooohhhh. I love Bohdi.....remember The Professionals. Actually I like most of the names on the list! Many more people are moving/living internationally than in previous generations so a traditional English/Scottish/Welsh name will sound very strange in Japan/Korea/Malaysia and vice versa. Anyway, once I know someone....it doesn't make any difference ....that's just their name. Also Sharon was never a traditional name in the early 1900s - they too probably thought it was 'fancy'.

Boys names: Tate, Seve, Brodie

Girls: Darcie, Kristin, Sacha
