until we took it up. Yes, the trend now is for tiled flooring, but even in new build properties there is an option to have carpet and we have even seen it in some show homes

Many homes still have carpet in them, my parents and parents in law included. The downstairs loo in our rental has carpet. Our old house had a lovely purple number

My sister put cream coloured carpet down in her lounge. I tried to persuade her to put wooden flooring down as she has 3 young children who love to be outside. Needless to say after a couple of months it didn't look to flash.

Tiles may be unsafe if you walk on them with wet feet, but that's why bath mats were invented.
Imagine how the carpet would look after several years of soap, toothpaste, shampoo, etc. getting on it and also constantly getting wet and mouldy.
It's like having carpet in the kitchen or laundry. It just doesn't work.
