So now we have the French and the South Africans having a go at British plumbing... bit rich from two nations who's primary sanitation methods consist of shiting in a bucket.

Re: MY observations.
You guys are crapping all over Chris's observations of the UK.
Have you no pity on the guy? :D |

Many homes still have carpet in them, my parents and parents in law included. The downstairs loo in our rental has carpet. Our old house had a lovely purple number  until we took it up. Yes, the trend now is for tiled flooring, but even in new build properties there is an option to have carpet and we have even seen it in some show homes

It might seem a daft thing to have, but it's actually a damn site safer than tiles, particularly if you're getting on and not as steady on your feet as you were.
She's been off work for about 10 wks. Luckily she can work from home. Saw her last week and it's still badly swollen |
Re: MY observations.
My sister put cream coloured carpet down in her lounge. I tried to persuade her to put wooden flooring down as she has 3 young children who love to be outside. Needless to say after a couple of months it didn't look to flash.

Re: MY observations.
Tiles may be unsafe if you walk on them with wet feet, but that's why bath mats were invented.
Imagine how the carpet would look after several years of soap, toothpaste, shampoo, etc. getting on it and also constantly getting wet and mouldy. It's like having carpet in the kitchen or laundry. It just doesn't work. |
