At the risk of being shot down (again!)...
I don't think you should stop offering advice as it will almost certainly help somebody. The problem with the written word though is that comments made with tongue in cheek can often be misunderstood. I have made my mistakes on here & hold my hands up to that (you know what I mean!), it is easy enough to get carried away!
I really love to read of peoples experiences & think it is great that people are so generous with their advice. Pity some always have to be so generous with their insults too! Playing in the lounge can be dangerous

They've always been here, you've just not necessarily been slapped in the face with it before. Been there, done that. I think it's worse when it happens in person but hey, their loss I look at lots of posts and think, I can help there, but now I've started looking at their other posts and sometimes think - actually, they can find out for themselves because they will either a) ignore; b) argue when they don't know or c) don't know what c) is
Oh and spend too long in TIO or the Lounge and you become more cynical than is good for you.

Re: My first moan thread ....
I've been on this forum since the end of 2004 in various guises and lengths of time - and never have I been so disillusioned .... either advice based on experience (been in Australia for 3 years) is argued against from some arsehole who thinks they know better ...but has never actually experienced the situation/place etc - or time is spent compiling advice, only to be totally ignored.
I don't know why I bother ...experience mean nothing now?
It certainly used to ...
