I wonder if he goes to Zumba classes?

I think there's a lot of people on here lately that just get kicks out of knocking other people, Sonly. They must be pretty perfect themselves.

For some reason these lyrics sprang to mind:

Oh Lord it's hard to be humble
when you're perfect in every way.
I can't wait to look in the mirror
cause I get better looking each day.
To know me is to love me
I must be a hell of a man.
Oh Lord it's hard to be humble
but I'm doing the best that I can.

I used to have a girlfriend
but she just couldn't compete
with all of these love starved women
who keep clamoring at my feet.
Well I prob'ly could find me another
but I guess they're all in awe of me.
Who cares, I never get lonesome
cause I treasure my own company.

Oh Lord it's hard to be humble
when you're perfect in every way,
I can't wait to look in the mirror
cause I get better looking each day
To know me is to love me
I must be a hell of a man.

Oh Lord it's hard to be humble
but I'm doing the best that I can.
I guess you could say I'm a loner,
a cowboy outlaw tough and proud.
I could have lots of friends if I want to
but then I wouldn't stand out from the crowd.

Some folks say that I'm egotistical.
Hell, I don't even know what that means.
I guess it has something to do with the way that I
fill out my skin tight blue jeans.

Oh Lord it's hard to be humble
when you're perfect in every way,
I can't wait to look in the mirror
cause I get better looking each day
To know me is to love me
I must be a hell of a man.

Oh Lord it's hard to be humble
but I'm doing the best that I can.
We're doing the best that we can.

Just think what he looks like when he gets down to the budgies. To be honest there's no reason to expect that he can't swim well. The water is a great equalizer.

Geez chill out people - you'd think I'd started a thread about whether fat people should be allowed on the beach or something?! I forgot there's always people who crop up with their pc hat on, whatever the topic. Maybe I have broken a golden rule about certain topics never to discuss i.e. race, religion... weight must be one of those sensitive issues as well.

Like I said in my original post - I was just surprised, it's just not the typical image I have of aussie lifeguards, that's all! Try seeing the humour in the picture, reminds me of one of those cheesy postcards ;)

Oh and yes I am pretty perfect, so there :p

You just weren't amusing, MissyB - do you see many people on this thread laughing with you?

Nothing personal, you're just one example of a recent trend on this forum. If pulling you up on it makes me "PC" (and you see that as an insult, obviously), well I'm proud to be so. However I thought it made me a grown-up, and one who is not afraid of being unpopular.

Oh sorry, I forgot the ;) and the :p to show I'm not really a grumpy old cow.

Firstly, it wasn't my intention to be amusing. I was asking a question - can you be obese/that overweight and still do a job that is physically demanding... which in none of your posts have you bothered to even answer. Thanks for your contribution.

Nothing personal, but you're just one example of posters that lack humour/too sensitive, I find pc people rather dull, sorry should say rather

I think some people on this forum are too scared to post anything cos of the unnecessary backlash and nit picking!

I'll blame it on the super full moon and not because you are in fact a grumpy old cow - seems like it's having an affect on quite a few people...

Body image and self esteem are a real problem for a lot of people. For people that battle with their weight or have family with body image and self esteem problems, I guess it's not a joking matter. Anyway, any excuse for me to post this next video about the beautiful Daniel Johns battle with anorexia.............

Re: Lifeguards - What's wrong with this Pic...?

Taking the piss out of fat people is no different from any other situation where jokes are made. They can be funny when meant in humour. However it is not funny when it's meant in a sneaky, cruel, vindictive, self assuming manner.

This thread was not started as a funny thread. It was started as a dig at a fat person "with man boobs" and the assumption the fat person wouldnt be able to do his job as life guard just cos he is fat. There's a lot of assumptions in there and I wonder if someone was drowning if they'd be so fussy?

So it wasn't really funny was it:blink:

On another note regarding taking the piss out of fat people....

Tonight i saw footage about that boy who featured in the bullying Utube case this week where he was filmed in a school playground. Apparently Casey (the boy being bullied) had been bullied for 2 years due to being overweight and thats why the younger kid felt it was appropriate to smack Casey in the mouth and taunt him. The young shit who was bullying Casey had seen other kids do it for TWO years. This bullying pushed Casey over the edge and apparently last year nearly pushed him to the brink of suicide:(

He's a kid ffs and he wanted to commit suicide because some bastard bullying kids were picking on him due to him overweight:( Apparently his sister instilled some self worth into him as she was the only person he confided in. He didn't even tell his dad he felt like killing himself as he didn't want to upset him.

So it seems kids and unintelligent adults breed contempt for overweight people not because of who they are, but what they look like:thumbdown:

Any adult who thinks it's amusing to take the piss out of anyone for being overweight in a nasty, sneaky, self serving kind of way as opposed to someone taking the piss in genuine good humour, or anyone who thinks fat people can't do a job because of their weight, or thinks they are better than anyone who is overweight, I suggest you take a really good look at yourself and your self serving attitude.

It's not smart and its not funny - unless you are laughing with them not at them
