The affects of the Flood do appear to be hitting the fruit and veg shops.

Bananas up 100% this week
Normal tomatoes at about $5.50 kg, (from $1.99) but truss tomatoes at $4.69 kg  I got the truss ones today. :D
The price of lettuce makes me shudder

Imported frozen veg may be making inroads soon, for a while.

and for tomatoes...
$0.69 Tin Whole Peeled Tomatoes 400g

I wish Coleworths would wrap lettuces in clingfilm like wot they do in civelized countrys. On the rare occasions we let our hair down and splash out on an iceberg the leaves flail all over the place like a mad women's 'parts'.

They often bring all sorts of creatures in too. Last week, wrapped in the leaves of a $4.20 'romaine' bad boy was a small dried snake skin. Sacre bleu:thumbdown:

I try not to eat 'em. Half price if only one of us eats them. ;)
