Todays extravaganza didn't involve the usual "your British passport is illegal in Australia" fiasco, it centred around "I'd like to buy this please"
"Theres no price on it"
"well, could you please find out the price as I'd like to buy it"
"theres no price on it"
"well could you look it up"
"Its new"
"well could you look it up please!"
"That means I have to find the invoice"
"Could you do that then please, I don't mind waiting"
"WHY? You don't REALLY want it do you?"
"Well, thats why I've been standing in the queue!"

The woman running the next till said that I had been so patient I should get it for free :D which wound up Mrs Pom Hater even more then ever!!!

After 30 minutes it turned out the price was $5.95, which was what I'd suggested in the first place, and the other woman said she couldn't understand my patience as she'd have hit her colleague by that point :D :D

This round to me I feel......!

Chermside :D She's the one with blonde hair and viscious looking nails. Offer her a British passport and she holds it gingerly as if she's going to catch somehting from it, then declares it an "illegal document and not proper ID". Thought I was in luck today, she wasn't in evidence, but she emerged from her lair when her colleague couldn't work out the price! Have to admit I was tempted to leave the thing, wasn't worth the hassle, but once she got involved I couldn't walk away!!

Thats the one. She lurks at the back counter looking savage. Used to work at Toombul and had a lovely argument with me there about how I couldn't post a parcel until i brought in my Aussie driving licence......don't have a British one never mind an Aussie one! The whole queue had a go that day as she insisted everyone has a driving licence and those waiting patiently proceeded to rubbish this statement as it deserved. She's now followed me across to Chermside .....
