There was a time when threads kind of died a peaceful death and moved to the second, third page etc. For some reason people want to keep sticking the paddles on various threads now.

Didn't say it should. Many a thread go on for many weeks/months/years. Some that would normally last a page or two get dragged along for no apparent reason. Some that should hang around fade away immediately. I was just commenting.
