Police here just don't seem to have or have the freedom to think for themselves. They are sneaky in getting people for speeding so think it's only fair to be sneaky in police trap avoidance to level up the playing field.

Exactly 'a sign' not multiple signs at spaced differences to remind people.
In UK they found those flashing signs that reminded you of your speed and didn't fine you had a more drastic effect on peoples speed than cop cameras. If you actually take the time to look, they do have speed signs spaced out along the roads and streets in this fair land, but then maybe you are going too fast to notice them. If in doubt, get a vehicle that has a speed alarm fitted to tell you if you are exceeding the set limit. We've got one. |

Re: I got nicked for speeding.

Pity they randomly alter the locations slightly though, isn't it? |
Re: I got nicked for speeding.
There must be a web site where the sites are listed.
Theres plenty for uk speed traps And they are often broadcast on local radio and local press |

Not sure what the laws are for oz but in the uk police have to state where the mobile ones will be operating on any given day
you can argue or even go to court to contest their decision but i don't think you'd ever win. Maybe someone can provide evidence to the contrary but i have my doubts. Jazzys |
Re: I got nicked for speeding.
If you look at the site I posted a link to above it lists all speed camera locations both fixed and mobile for every state in australia...should come in handy

Please Miss,
I'm a reformed speedster I've learned my lesson after my nine points in nine days excursion a number of years ago:o I've been really good, really careful or really observant I can't decide which:huh: I do know I developed the ability to spot a yellow safety jacket at 500m fairly quickly. I have to get my new licence soon, I object to forking out every five years for one but I'm going to brush my hair & get a wash for this one, I may even shave:eek: |
