You better believe it

People kept offering me money for the wheels but there was never any danger I would flog them.

I can top that (maybe). When I was about 6 or 7 I got a 'girls' bike for my birthday. A girl I knew had a Tomahawk and thought it was a proper boys bike - so we used to swap. Well, I lived on a steep hill, which usually wasn't a problem. But this one time I was out on her bike. I had gone parallel to the hill and then turned to head up it when a friend called near the bottom. I turned and headed for him, only to realise that this bike had no ******* brakes. I decided I would turn down a back alley to avoid the main road but was going so fast it wasn't possible. I tried to turn but ended up hitting the wall of the local cemetary, going over it and landing in the graveyard

If that wasn't bad enough, the girl's big brother was going to beat the living crap out of me for bending the forks and front wheel of this bike, until my uncle stepped in.

Good times

I remember bombing down the road on my mates Grifter and it had this very annoying habit of going into "slip gear" so I end up over the handlebars and flat on my face...ouch!!

I am sure slip gear was somewhere between 2nd and 3rd.
