Re: the grass ain't greener!!!!!!
And cos I've always wondered, but never be bored enough before to lokk -
"the most obvious difference between a llama and an alpaca is the size. A couple of other things are noticeable from a distance even when you can't tell the size: a llama is said to have "banana-shaped" ears, while an alpaca's are smaller. There is also a difference in the tail positions. The biggest difference is in the fiber - an alpaca's fiber is much warmer than wool (without the itch), but as soft (and stronger) than cashmere. It's a real luxury fiber. Llamas and alpacas are in the camelid family, but both species have always been domesticated. They have wild cousins in the same family, the vicuna and the guanaco (guanaca?). " Trouble is, if the main way of telling them apart is banana-shaped ears, then noone in Aus will be any the wiser, as we can't afford bananas and so have forgottten what they look like  |

Re: the grass ain't greener!!!!!!
It's probably good news that Arkon doesn't have Llamas then, with banana shaped ears, and seeing how desperate he is for bananas, the poor little things would have lost their ears by now

Re: the grass ain't greener!!!!!!
The greenest grass I have ever come across was in Ireland. All that rain I expect. We have some very green grass here in North Yorkshire although some of it has gone a bit browny due to the heatwave. Now then, the blackest black pudding I have ever seen was in Madge's cafe in Leeds, and the reddest red herring was one that said the grass was always greener.
